Obituary of Russell Gordon Doan

Peacefully, at Glendale Crossing, on Friday, October 21, 2011, Gord (Russell) passed away in his 91st year. Loving husband of Betty (nee Morgan). Father of Paul (Sheila) of London & Ann (Alan) of Stratford and the late Douglas Doan. Will be missed by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Russell is survived by brother Stanley (the late Donna) Doan & their family and predeceased by brother Walter. Russell served with the Canadian Army in the European conflicts of WWII. Russell was a longtime devoted member of Hyatt Ave. United Church, a longtime member with the Boy Scouts of Canada as a Cub leader and worked over 36 years for Bell Canada. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), on Tuesday from 7-9pm. Memorial Service will be conducted in the Evans Chapel on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Carol Reardon-Smith officiating. Cremation has taken place. Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
