Obituary of John Frederick Guthrie

Guthrie, John Frederick John Frederick Guthrie, 79, of London, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2021. John was born in Etobicoke to Fredrick and Phyllis Guthrie on July 1, 1942. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an AP before being medically discharged. He owned a farm in Ingersoll for a number of years before eventually settling in Mississauga. There he had a varied and interesting career working in road construction, snow removal, truck driving, retail management and garbage disposal. He is preceded in death by his first wife Carol Setchell, his second wife Doreen Guthrie, his third wife Deborah Guthrie and his sons John Jr Guthrie and John Andrew Guthrie. John is survived by his brother Ross Guthrie; children Gordon Alexander Guthrie and Kimberley Michael (Louis); his grandchildren (Andrew) Eva Akhok, Anthony Wright, Katie Guthrie, Michael Doherty, Brittany Doherty, Rebecca Lewis, Madison Guthrie; (Alexander) Kathleen Beharrell, Kyle Guthrie, Carol-Ann Guthrie-Alride, Jocelyn Guthrie-Alride; and (Kimberley) Brianna Guthrie and Elizabeth Michael as well as several great grandchildren. His family will miss him greatly. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd., (1 block east of Egerton St.), on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Private burial to follow for family only.
