Obituary
Obituary of Demetrios "Jim" Frangakis
Peacefully, in his 94th year, with his family by his side at University Hospital on Wednesday March 3, 2021. Demetrios (Jim) Frangakis of London, formerly from Greece. Beloved husband of the late Panayote (2018) of 63 years. Loving father of Anastasios (Kathleen) and Louis (Juliane). Cherished Papou of Erinn, Alexis, Chad, Shelby and Callie and great grandchildren Aiden, Owen and Zoe. Dear brother of Nick (predeceased), Vasilios and Tasia of Greece.
After marrying and managing a bus tour company in Athens for 15 years he immigrated with his family to Canada in 1969 and eventually landing in London via Leamington, Montreal, and Windsor. He worked hard to build a life for his family, owning an electronic repair business and investing in real estate.
With strength of will he overcame many struggles, including a major stroke at age 62. He enjoyed social gatherings and travelling to Greece with his wife. He would happily regale comical stories from his past with family and friends over a cup of Greek coffee. With the help of his wife and family and his long time PSWs, Marek and Brian he maintained his independence living in his own home until his passing.
