Obituary of Doctor Howard Calvin Friesen
Peacefully at home on Sunday, January 8, 2006, Doctor Howard Calvin Friesen of London in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Mary (Townshend) Friesen. Dear brother of Leona Friesen, Eleanor (Art) Wilson, Colin (Muriel) Friesen and Douglas (Doreen) Friesen. Predeceased by his parents Abram and Elisa Friesen, sister Luetta Sharpley and brothers Alfred and Gordon. Cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews, especially Bill Sharpley. Dear brother-in-law of John (Ruth) Townshend, Betty Townshend, Robert (Pat) Townshend, Betty (Bob) Foster, Barbara (Gordon) Ullerick, Peggy Utting and Nancy Lougheed. Predeceased by his father & mother-in-law Bishop William and Mrs. Kathleen Townshend and sister-in-law Eleanor Monture and brothers-in-law Bill and Jim Townshend. Howard was a graduate in medicine from UWO. He served in the medical corps for peaceful duties in Italy. Howard practiced in the field of psychiatry in Cleveland and in Woodstock. He retired from active practice in 1978. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Wednesday, January 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral, 472 Richmond St. at Queens Ave. on Thursday, January, 12, 2006 at 11 am with Bishop Robert Townshend officiating. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Arva. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or London Regional Cancer Centre. Online condolences www.loganfh.ca
