Obituary of Edward James Mann
Peacefully, on April 15, 2020, Edward James Mann passed away at University Hospital, the day before his 81st birthday. Ed is now reunited with his parents, James and Edith Mann. He is survived by his cousin Ken Beam and family.
Ed was born and raised in London, Ontario, where he graduated and earned his law degree from the University of Western Ontario and maintained a successful law practice for over 50 years. He took immense pride in his work and gave his very best until his health no longer allowed him to. He was kind, compassionate, honest and had a tremendous impact on his clients acting with a huge appreciation for "his people." A colleague of Ed’s shared that he, "provided an essential service, with unflagging enthusiasm right to the end." Everyone who worked for Ed looked up to him as a mentor and valued him as the terrific boss that he was.
If Ed was not working you would see him out riding his bike in his dress shirt, tie and helmet. He always enjoyed a good steak from The Keg and Chinese food from anywhere. In his spare time, he would relax by watching movies, reading books about Economics and admiring his tool collection. He was a genuine and simple man who gave everything and never asked for anything in return. Ed was one of a kind and he will forever be missed.
"You matter, and you are loved."
