To the Zucker family - my sincere and deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of being in the same Ivey section as Ira and remember him as a deeply caring, thoughtful and exceptional classmate. His personality would light up any room he entered, and everyone would gravitate toward his presence - he was a force to be reckoned with, and his hilarious perspectives would leave anyone smiling. I will remember him as the incredibly kind hearted and compassionate person he was - he will be missed by so many. Rest easy Ira

Dear Miriam, I am so profoundly sorry to hear of Ira's sudden death.I remember you talking about Ira and his brothers, in the OR years ago, and loved hearing about them. Such a lovely epitaph, "He helped many people in their time of crisis". In his too-short life, he made a difference to others. With deep sympathy, Pat Morley-Forster

Miriam, I am so very sorry for you and your family's loss. From the moment I met him in high school, I knew that I wanted to be friends with Ira. He was a force to behold, and the many meals, coffees, debates, and conversations that we shared together after university brought so much joy to my life. I will remember Ira as the truly remarkable human that he was, with intelligence, humour, thoughtfulness, and generosity that were unparalleled. He will always remain one of my favourite people I've ever met, and I'm so grateful to have known him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

To the entire Zucker family, I am deeply sorry for your loss and wish you strength, love, and togetherness during this difficult time. Ira was a classmate and friend from Ivey and over the last few days our entire section has been reminiscing about what a loving, outgoing, and intelligent person he was. I've spent the last few days going though old photos and memories and was left with this thought - even after he has passed, Ira is still doing what he was best at, making us all smile and laugh. Nothing is going to replace having him by your side, but in time I hope that his memory brings you as much joy and smiles as it does to me. Thank you for raising such an intelligent, caring, and hilarious person. I am very glad we got to share the time we did. Greg

Ira, you were one of my first few friends I've made in Canada since I moved here from Korea back in Riverside Elementary and continued on our friendship throughout in Oakridge Secondary and Western University. You always found a way to make us smile and laugh even when things were tough. You will be greatly missed and you are in my thoughts. Rest in peace Ira.

Ira touched the hearts of everyone he met during his time at Ivey. He will be remembered and missed by many. He was a loving friend and made my Ivey experience 100x better just by being there. He brightened everyones day with his infectious personality and (extremely hilarious) jokes. He was unapologetically himself, which I value tremendously, he helped all of us feel a little more comfortable being ourselves too. I dont think it would be be an understatement to say that Ira was a huge contributing factor to our class bonding the way it did, Ira was the glue, our Miss Congeniality. He was a dear friend and always in my thoughts. He will be missed.

Like I said to Ira in our final messages over FB Messenger, if there was one person I would want to be like in high school, it was Ira, he learned so quickly, he was so open minded, he could fit in and talk to anyone and was THE best trash talker. It is such a shame to lose such an amazing person. Wishing all of his family all the best in such a difficult time and thinking of you all as you mourn.

I only have fond memories of Ira. From our days at Riverside to the halls of Oakridge. He had the tendency to be known as the class clown, but unknown to some was how ridiculously smart he was. (still jealous he beat me in the math competition from grade 7) He was always doing the best impersonations of teachers, and always looking to get a laugh or a smile from his friends and classmates. He was such a kind person, and his contagious smile and positive spirit will be missed. My sincerest condolences to the Zucker family.

Ira, It was so hard to say bye to you today. I'll miss your sense of humour and quick wit. You and mike were always such weirdos together, but it was awesome. I'll hold on to memories of you over at our house, or elementary school and highschool class antics (that I also took part in ). You truly were one of a kind and I look forward to having Sushi w you and Mike when we meet again. I take comfort in knowing you're with your Dad who was so proud of you, and Therman. Marium, Jared and Aaron: myself, Michael and my family will keep in touch during this difficult time and years to come. May he rest in peace xo

I'm heartbroken to hear the news of Ira's passing, he left the world far too soon. Although Ira and I have not been close since our days in school together, I remember him as someone that was kind, generous, friendly, and always had a smile on his face. Sending my sympathies and love to Miriam, Aaron, and Jerrod in this difficult time.

My deepest condolences go out to all of the Zucker family. Miriam, the late Peter, Aaron, Jarrod and Ira always treated me like I was part of their family and my heart breaks for all of you today. Ira was the best friend anyone could ask for. We first met when we were 7 years old playing hockey and he was my goalie and best friend for the next 15+ years of our lives. After reminiscing with some of our closest friends over the past few days it is clear how deeply Ira touched all of our lives, and how much we all loved him. I have more than a lifetime worth of memories with "the Ra" and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Ira will be missed dearly by all of his friends and family. He truly was a great friend and a one of a kind person. Go be with your dad brother. I love you and will miss you every day!

I had the joy and privilege of teaching Ira grades 10 and 11 English at Oakridge Secondary. I will always remember him as the gentle, good-natured boy who poked his head into my classroom just to say "Hey Ms V", who enacted the most creative, funniest version of Macbeth I've ever seen, who was loved by all his classmates. I will miss him. But I know my life is enriched for having known him. My deepest condolences to the family. May he Rest In Peace.
