Obituary of Andrew Nicholas (Andy) Destounis

In loving memory, Andrew (Andy) Nicholas Destounis, of St. Thomas, Ontario passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Elgin Manor Nursing Home beside his loving wife Maria Destounis. Andy was born on August 25th, 1940 in Kefalonia, Greece. Andy was a devout and dedicated family man. He was known as "Papou" to many. He will be remembered for his love of Volvo cars, positivity, kindness and sense of humour. He is survived by wife Maria Destounis, step-daughter Tina Waite, son-in-law Chris Waite and grandchildren Nicholas Waite and Christina Waite. Andy is also survived by his 1 son, Blair Destounis, sister Gregoria in Greece and 1 brother in Montreal. He is predeceased by his mother, father, 2 brothers, 1 sister and son Mark Destounis. He will be sadly missed by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. A special thank you to the staff at Elgin Manor Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion. Our hearts will always remember all the happy times together. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, London, Ontario or the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated. Private funeral service will take place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Father George Papazoglou officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.
