Obituary of John Allingham
On April 19th, after a short battle with COVID, John passed away at 90 years old, one day shy of his 91st birthday, at Meadow Park Nursing Home.
John (aka Pop) joins his beloved wife Annie and brother Don. He leaves his brother Jim; son John (Nancy) and daughters Gail Davidson and Debbi Zubyk; grandchildren John (Dessa), Mark, Don Davidson (Brenda), Kyle Zubyk (Alyssia), and Tamy (Evan); and great grandchildren John, Daniel, Emily, Noah, Lyvia, Jessie, Julia, Abby, and Griffin .
John was born in Hamilton in 1929 to Bruce and Ivy but moved to London in 1940, where he spent 50 years at the Jones Box & Label Company, starting as a teenaged floor sweeper and retiring in 1994 as Department Foreman. Over this same period, his off hours were spent on the construction of four houses for his expanding family. He was a hardworking man and a great role model to his family. Pop will be sorely missed by his entire loving family.
In lieu of flowers, John’s family requests that you consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements entrusted to EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 519-451-9350. There will be no immediate service but online condolences can be expressed at www.evansfh.ca.
